OU is test optional

OU is Test Optional

As a test-optional institution, students decide whether they want a test score (ACT or SAT) to be considered when applying.

While test scores are encouraged for admission, OU wants to be flexible and inclusive of all students. All applications are evaluated holistically, considering:

  • Academic rigor and performance
  • Engagement
  • Essay
  • Letters of recommendation

This process helps us identify students who have demonstrated academic excellence as well as grit, perseverance, and a passion to make a positive impact on the world.

Submitting test scores is still a great option for most of our applicants. We encourage you and your students to review our test optional information page and FAQs to determine what would be the best option.
